[PROJECT] YouTube thumb up Pledis Artsit's Videos to Promote Pledis and support AS

YouTube thumbs up project to help After School and all Pledis artists's videos in the future

This project is to help After School and the other artists in Pledis get a positive push. When I came up with the idea it was right after we found out that YouTube videos of live performances on music shows would be blocked in Korea. The channels this affects are: SBS, MBC, CJ E&M and JTBC.  I thought this might discourage Korean Pledis fans to watch the MV’s on YouTube and chose Naver and such instead. This is of course better for the companies as it gives them more revenue (money) but it is extremely hard for international fans to listen to the music on Korean sites, even for foreigners that live in Korea. I thought this is where we international fans have our chance! With a bit of luck Pledis and the other channels might actually notice the change in appreciation for their videos. Who knows, if many fans of NU’EST, Son Dam Bi, After School, Seventeen, Orange Caramel, Yoonjo, Han Dong Geun and Lady Teen with the other trainees join the project then we might get a lot out of it. What will we get? Maybe a new season of the Beauty Bible, perhaps even English titles for Pledis videos because of the support they get from international fans.

There is one thing we can be sure of. According to YouTube Analytics videos with more likes appear higher on the YouTube search results. In the long run this means more views for Pledis videos and that gives more money to the company and their artists. So that is the real goal with the project. To make Pledis videos rank higher and give money and attention to Pledis and some other channels.

To give you two examples I searched for Orange Caramel on YouTube. Every other video that appeared was from 1theK. So it was 50% Pledis and 50% 1theK is the search results with 1theK My Copycat as the top result followed by Pledis Catallena as the second video.
When searching for NU’EST the top songs were from 1theK, their Japanese debut showed up before and MV uploaded by Pledis did. Good Bye Bye was the last video on the first page with Pledisnuest as the uploader.

This is NOT what we want for the artists. We want Pledis to make money of their views and by doing this then then maybe the next time I search Catallena will be the top video and Good Bye Bye won’t appear at the bottom of the page. It is important for Pledis to be on top when it comes to search results. Have their videos getting credited to that they can get recognition as the smaller company they are. They need to establish themselves as a the good company that they are and by doing this we can make it a bit easier for them in 2015.

Channels/Videos we will include:

Every single video uploaded by Pledisartist, NU’EST Japan Official Youtube Channel, AfterSchoolCraze, pledisnuest and pledis17.

AmuroNamiech – Make It Happen MV (After School’s Japanese debut song)
KBS World TV – Everything uploaded about After School’s Beauty Bible, even short 1 minute teasers.
Avexnetwork – All the teasers, music videos and more AFTERSCHOOL have in their Japanese channel.
Brand New Music – Every video uploaded with Raina, including the teaser for her appearance at their concert.

Like I said I may have forgotten other important videos so please fill them in so we can support them too.

There is one thing we as fans must decide. That is when to give a thumbs up to the videos. With everything going on when Christmas is approaching many are busy these days. It will probably remain the same until 2015 begins. Giving a thumbs up to a video is very fast. You only have to click on it, scroll down and hit the button. You don’t have to watch the music video at all and it will only take seconds before you can move on the next one. Personally I have some ideas on dates and I have decided that it might be best to have a 3 days for a time frame so everyone will have the time to like the videos. The options I have so far are:

• 23rd - 25th of December
  

• 31st of December - 2nd of January
  

• Right before the comeback/debut of the next Pledis artist that will promote on music shows
  

Give me some more suggestions and thoughts and I will make a Strawpoll soon so even people outside of the forums can vote on what they want.

How to do it:
To be able to thumb up a video on YouTube you will need a YouYube account. Ever since the Google+ merged with YouTube back in 2013 (Simple English they went together) you need a Google+ account to create a YouTube account. Same thing in a different way to get a YouTube account you will get a Google+ account regardless if you want it or not. What is Google+? – It is like Google’s version of Facebook that gives you a YouTube account can be used to support After School and other Pledis artists. Don’t worry, you don’t need to use the Google+ account at as a social network thing and only for YouTube unless you want to.

If you already have a gmail or a Google+ account then you automatically have a YouTube account. If you use gmail to check your mail in your inbox and your address for example is youtubelike@hotmail.com then you also have a YouTube account.

Step 1: go to youtube.com and click sign in that will appear as the blue button in the top right corner.
Step 2: You will appear at the login page. If you already have an account sign in and then you are all set to give videos a thumbs up and can skip Step 3. If not click “Create an account” at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Fill in everything you see in the boxes. As you can see you don’t need to create a new mail unless you want to and once done you have a Google+/YouTube account.


Now that you have a YouTube account you can start thumbing up videos.
If you have more than one please use them and if you are not subscribed to the channels owned by Pledis (Pledisartist, pledisnuest and pledis17) then please take the opportunity to do so. After that you have three alternatives:

• Thumb up all the videos mentioned manually.
  

• You can use public Playlist to make it easier. Then you can just click “next video” until you have given them all a thumbs up.
  

• Or you can use the The Voter Thread, thanks to PlayboyzAdam that will do everything for you once you have it installed.
  

Currently there are 474 videos we will be liking, more to be added at request by you fans.

Please help spread the message to all the fandoms involved! PlayboyzAdam and I have tried to cover everything we know but please fill in things you think we have missed and I hope we can all join forces to help all of Pledis.

@SwePlaygirl, in the past it used to be 100% 1theK but thanks to the efforts of some fans, things have been changing, so proud of those fans

@SwePlaygirl, I just want to add it's not just about money, the recognition is also very important for helping Pledis grow and After School become more successful. We need to help promote Pledis. Also there's still many people who are confused and think 1theK is After School's company.

Really? I thought after the Google+ thing you could only use gmail unless you already had an account. I also thought having a gmail automatically gives you a YT account and the ability to thumb up a video?

In that case I am right about one thing. Having a gmail account automatically gives you a YT account. I actually have three, two gmail TY accounts and one youtube account that I made with one of the e-mails. Anyways I will create another one and bail out at the last minute to see before I update the info.

Edit: After my attempt to try and create a new one it automatically links me to Google+ Thinking back about it I somewhat remember famous YT people throwing rant videos about how YT forces you to get google+ in many areas. I remembered some of the other ones they listed but not that you needed it to create one. I think you can still have any email ending eg hotmail as long as you create a google+ account with it. I now gmail wanted you to use old emails if you wanted to about 4 years ago. Oh well this is going of topic, I'll change the instructions a bit and then you can see for yourself if you think something does not add up with it.
