Warning: I'm annoy so this post may just end up being a long rant!

For those fans that are relatively new to Kpop, you may not know this, but Kpop wasn't always flooded by sexy concepts. From when After School debut all the way to 2011, Kpop was dominated by cute concepts. After that, sexy concepts start creeping more and more into Kpop and since 2013(or was it 2012 I'm not exactly sure and I'm too busy to check it) Kpop became flooded with sexy concepts and since then sexy concepts have became well received.

The reason why I'm all angry and bitter about all this is because from when After School debuted and pretty much up till 2011, After School was criticized by Koreans for being sexy. When I saw those Koreans said that After School was too sexy and they want After School to be more cute when After School appeared on Big Question I was so bloody pissed off.
SHUT UP!!! OH! Sexy was bad back then but now pulsating your crotch in front of the camera and twerking is glorified? Heck Koreans shouldn't even twerk, they've got nothing to twerk with so it just ends up looking embarrassing, just stick to shaking you butts cutely.

It isn't just this fandoms that too stupid/ignorant to appreciate what After School has done, Kpop in general is exactly the same. Kpop dumbs down humanity in so many ways and I've had enough of it...too bad for me After School is still a part of Kpop.

At least when After School does sexy concepts they've always kept it classy. If you can't tell the different between After School's sexy concepts and the sexy concepts of some other groups, I'll tried to explain it as simply as possible. Basically the sexy concepts of some other groups are very sexually suggestive...I'm trying to keep this post as family friendly as possible so that's the best I can do without going into details about what connotations dance moves like twerking and pulsating your crotch has...I'll try to put it vaguely and if you still don't get the hint, PM me. Dance moves like twerking and pulsating your crotch is telling a man to put something he has somewhere a girl owns. Those dance moves are derived from certain actions in movies that only adults are allow to see so it is not very tastful for it to be display publicly. After School's sexy concepts are not sexually suggestive(they are cheeky at worst). If fans still don't understand, After School's sexiness comes from their attractiveness AND THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE. AFTER SCHOOL ISN'T SUGGESTING ANYTHING(sex-wise), After School's sexiness comes from their charisma and their physical appearances. This quality of After School was one of many factors that set them apart from the rest of Kpop(i.e. made them unique) but I know for a fact there are still fans out there that can't tell the difference between the sexiness of Jung Ah's boob rub from the sexiness that is shown in the dances of other groups. For the record,  Jung Ah's boob rub isn't that sexy(to me anyway) and all the comments I've seen for it find it funny or are making funny remarks about it. The only reason why Kahi putting her hand on Jung Ah's personal parts is amusing to see was because it was of the novelty of the girl to girl interaction. LOL, it's fine for guys to do that to guys and girls to do that guys, so why wouldn't it be fine for a girl to do that to a girl...although I don't think it's fine for a guy to do that to a girl(in the context of a dance move or without consent from the girl), I don't want to see a guy doing that to any After School members.

....huh, I was angry before but thinking about some fun After School memories have made me forget why I was angry in the first place...
LOL, epic boob rubs @1:11 to 1:18, 1:26 to 1:34, 1:39 to 1:51, 2:24 to 2:29 and

...Oh, back on track now. Once upon a time Hello Venus said they wanted to aspire to be like After School and once upon a time they were to closest things we had to After School(as Mbi had once put it) but relatively recently they change and they said they wanted to be like EXID, at the time Hello Venus said that I had no idea who EXID was so I googled them. When I found out about how EXID's Up and Down fan cam went viral and caused Up and Down to topped the charts, I totally understand why Hello Venus change from wanting to be like After School to wanting to be like EXID.
Kpop is ridiculous, there is nothing special about that Up and Down fan cam. Song-wise, it is a matter of opinion but to me there's nothing special about the song itself. Dance-wise, there's nothing special about it too, crotch thrusting has already been done by Rania and twerting has already been done by wa$$up(although I'm don't really think what they did was twerking...but neither do I think what Wa&&up did was twerking as well, in general I don't think Koreans have the assets to twerk with).

After School was perfectly fine the way the were but the ignorance/stupidity from both this fandom and the Kpop industry has been pressuring them to change. Hello Venus found success following EXID's steps but I never want to see that kind of sexiness from After School. After School has much more to offer than such cheap attempt at satisfying the imaginations of primitive minds. AFTER SCHOOL HAS TALENT!!!

I have to agree with you After School has a different kind of sexy.
When I see other groups doing a sexy concept it is disgusting what they do sometimes. The one that shocked me the most was the song move from 4L, why just why would you do that, it was just plain sex in that vid. Everything like crotch trusting and grabbing and doing more suggestive moves. I know this is a extreme example but there are many more.
It is sad that the suggestive sexy is gaining more popularity instead of the classy sexiness.

Look at First Love, they used pole art, it wasn't suggestive at all and even using the poles After School stayed classy, and I think they have the talent to make it look classy instead of trashy.

@Menketi, I know After School called it pole art instead of pole dancing because they didn't want to associated it with strippers but I'm still going to call it pole dancing. It's unfortunate that both the name(i.e. pole dancing) and the art itself is associated with strippers(not hating on strippers) but I believe not only in breaking the stereotypical association of the art with stripper I also believe in breaking the stereotypical association of name(i.e. pole dancing) with strippers.

Pole dancing itself isn't trashy. It's just that it has became thought of as trashy because when strippers do it, they add sexually suggestive moves to it. But yes I agree, After School has the talent to show off pole dancing as the talent that it is. So proud of our girls for what they've done(too bad even through all that hard work and injuries, a lot of people still didn't get it)

Sorry for posting on a pretty old thread but...

I feel like what makes AS' sexy concept so unique is that being sexy comes so naturally to them and they look like they actually enjoy doing sexy concepts. It's like they want to do them, unlike the groups today that are probably being made to do sexy concepts by their companies in order to gain more male attention and end up either looking awkward or over doing it.

Imo, sexy concepts are a great thing and they'd be even better if they were done by just girls who are naturals at it and like doing them; not to get male viewers or because it's currently the trend. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon so... I guess for now I'll just drool over awkward twerking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Catallena, please continue to post on old threads. Posting on the old threads (and new ones) creates discussion and makes this fandom more interesting.

@Catallena, I agree that's one of the things that make them so unique.

@Catallena, one of my biggest concerns is that AS will be pressured to comeback with something that will demean their worth as artists. I think Pledis cares for AS too much to let that happen and I'm very happy for Pledis and AS to take as long as they need to find something that's worthy to comeback with. Raina has said that they'll comeback when they've found something good and that made me very happy Very Happy but I've still got this concerned that the longer fans have to wait, the more angry they are going to get and that'll put more pressure on Pledis and After School to comeback when they are not ready.

It's great that fans are actively letting Pledis and After School know that they miss After School. It's even better that Pledis and After School are staying true to their art and their reputation for being elite performers/entertainers. So glad they haven't/won't caved in from the pressure fans are putting on them to comeback when they are not ready Very Happy

When I look at After School when they do sexy it seems empowering and comes from natural charisma they never overemphasise the sexual nature of any move so it still has class, when Hello Venus was under Pledis’s care they also did sexy but it was also done with class, and when matched to their cute style they complemented each other but now they are just being exploited for their bodies which is something Pledis never stooped to and it failed them big time.

I’m not a prude and I actually like a lot of sexy groups but sometimes I see something like Stella’s bum rub and sadly shake my head because I don’t find that “sexy” and the same goes for Hello Venus’s viral Wiggle Wiggle dance practice video and the up skirts school uniform one which I found tacky and tasteless but that’s just me, I can’t say it any better than that I just know the difference when I see it.
